Who we are

Ryland Consulting is run by Dan Ryland, a UK-based consultant who works across product, UX, strategy, AI, software and leadership. Dan has spent his career connecting those disciplines rather than treating them separately, helping teams turn complicated situations into clear systems they can act on.

Alongside the consultancy, Dan writes about purpose, identity and meaningful work at danryland.com. The two are kept deliberately separate: danryland.com is personal writing, while Ryland Consulting is organisational work.

What we believe

Most organisations do not have a technology problem. They have a clarity problem: competing priorities, disconnected systems, unclear ownership, and more information than certainty. New technology does not fix this. It amplifies it.

Technology should make organisations wiser, not busier. AI should sharpen judgement, not replace it. Every good engagement should make the next decision easier.

How we work

Every engagement follows the same movement: Understand, Clarify, Prototype, Build, Evolve. We listen before we recommend, simplify complexity and expose hidden assumptions, test ideas while they are still cheap to change, build around your organisation rather than generic best practice, and help you keep making confident decisions as technology and the organisation change.

We work with leadership teams and decision-makers who are weighing a technology investment, an AI integration, a product initiative, an internal system, or a strategic change. We are careful to distinguish evidence from interpretation and recommendation, and we never invent clients, results or testimonials.
