Who we are
Ryland Consulting is run by Dan Ryland, a UK-based consultant and builder working across strategy, product, UX, AI, software and leadership. Those disciplines come together around one task: understanding an important problem and making a useful solution work in the organisation.
You work directly with Dan from the first conversation through design, building and adoption. That continuity keeps the original purpose connected to the details of what gets delivered.
Alongside the consultancy, Dan writes about purpose, identity and meaningful work at danryland.com. Ryland Consulting focuses on organisational work.
What we take responsibility for
We agree the outcome, scope, responsibilities and measures of success with you. Then we take responsibility for delivering the agreed work, helping your team adopt it and reviewing what improves in practice.
That means working inside your real workflows, information and constraints. It includes the interfaces people use, the systems behind them and the handovers that keep work moving. Where AI helps, we test its quality on real tasks, make human responsibility clear and adjust it as needs change.
How we work
Understand, agree the outcome, test, build, adopt and improve. We begin with one consequential problem, establish the starting point and put a working prototype in front of the people who will use it. What we learn shapes the build.
We stay involved through adoption, compare results with the starting point and improve the solution in use. Documentation, clear ownership and handover help your team keep it running. Useful patterns become reusable capability, with client information and intellectual property handled according to the engagement terms.
What good looks like
A product people can use. A workflow with less friction. Information available when a decision needs making. We choose measures that fit the problem and assess usefulness and quality alongside time or cost.
Our work brings together strategy, product judgement, UX, systems thinking and hands-on building. We use that breadth to follow the problem through to a working outcome.
